چکیده

ABSTRACT Conventional unpowered lower limb exoskeleton paid little attention to the metabolic cost of body during sit down (SD)/stand up (SU). The SD motion model and characteristics extremity are analyzed; then, a novel is proposed, contribution degree muscles stiffness joints used for determining location energy storage element. relevant in left leg obtained based on Opensim software. results show that gracilis, rectus femoris (RF), long head biceps decreased about 13%, 9%, 68%, respectively. total 14% SD. However, RF, long/short increased 22%, 33%, 208%, 46%, And sartorius reduces 39%, 25.6% SU, under conditions. this study can provide theoretical basis optimal design exoskeleton.

Sliding and Lower Limb Mechanics during Sit-Stand-Sit Transitions with a Standing Wheelchair

PURPOSE This study aimed to investigate the shear displacement between the body and backrest/seat, range of motion (ROM), and force acting on the lower limb joints during sit-stand-sit transitions by operating an electric-powered standing wheelchair. METHODS AND MATERIALS The amounts of sliding along the backrest and the seat plane, ROM of lower limb joints, and force acting on the knee/foot ...

Analysis of the Effect of Lower Limb Weakness on Performance of a Sit-stand Task (draft)

The objectives of this research were: 1) to determine how the use of upper extremities to assist during a chair rise task affects lower extremity loading; 2) to examine how task difficulty affects performance when weakness is present; and 3) to compare the compensation strategies utilized by individuals with chronic weakness to those used by patients with acute weakness. Twelve polio survivors ...

A Fuzzy Controller for Lower Limb Exoskeletons during Sit-to-Stand and Stand-to-Sit Movement Using Wearable Sensors

Human motion is a daily and rhythmic activity. The exoskeleton concept is a very positive scientific approach for human rehabilitation in case of lower limb impairment. Although the exoskeleton shows potential, it is not yet applied extensively in clinical rehabilitation. In this research, a fuzzy based control algorithm is proposed for lower limb exoskeletons during sit-to-stand and stand-to-s...

Muscular Activity and Fatigue in Lower-Limb and Trunk Muscles during Different Sit-To-Stand Tests

Sit-to-stand (STS) tests measure the ability to get up from a chair, reproducing an important component of daily living activity. As this functional task is essential for human independence, STS performance has been studied in the past decades using several methods, including electromyography. The aim of this study was to measure muscular activity and fatigue during different repetitions and sp...

Lower-Limb Wearable Exoskeleton

There are numerous causes that can affect the functioning of the human locomotor system, leading to the appearance of joint disorders in the lower limb and generating atypical gait patterns. The importance of research and development in assistance technologies to compensate pathological gait have been recognised since the beginning of the twentieth century and numerous challenges still lie ahea...
